The Young Greens are young people under 35 who are passionate about our environment, stand up for fairness and equality, and want to see our economy working to look after our environment and our people.
The Young Greens are the youth network of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. We represent Greens up to the age of 35 years old.
We are the largest network in the Party with over 400 active members around the country. We're especially active on University campuses, with thriving "GOC" (Greens on Campus) groups operating at all the major universities around the country.
There are currently 3 Green MPs from the Young Greens - Gareth Hughes, Holly Walker and Julie-Anne Genter.
We hold two major events each year. Our legendary Summer Camp is traditionally held at Jeanette Fitzsimons' farm in the Coromandel. This is where we have our AGM and elect our officers for the year.
We have also had a Winter Camp, which is held in the Wellington region, for the past two years. Both of these camps are a great opportunity to meet fellow Young Greens and take part in workshops and activism to take your political engagement to the next level!
