Welcome to the Young Greens Website
The Young Greens are young people aged 16-35 who are passionate about our environment, stand up for fairness and equality, and want to see our economy working to look after our environment and our people.
We get together at least twice a year, for summer and winter camps, and hold meetings, drinks, fundraising events, camps and other adventures in between in our home-towns around the country.
We have branches on most university campuses, as well as a TeenGreen chapter. Some of us are young professionals and young parents. We campaign on issues young people care about, like warm healthy rental homes.
We work to see more young people represented in politics. We have a Young Green MP, Gareth Hughes. We have two Young Green representatives on local bodies: Jesse Chalmers on the Waitemata Local Board, and Aaron Edwards on the Whangarei District Council.
This year we're campaigning for the Greens in the general election by standing as candidates, volunteering around the country, and urging young people to get out and vote.
